There currently is a barrier of entry for Immigrants and international students within the celebration of Thanksgiving. Nationally celebrated, Thanksgiving is the ultimate American tradition. Typically enjoyed with close friends, family and the quintessential food: an oven- roasted turkey, gravy, stuffing, casseroles, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes.
However, for those new to the country, Thanksgiving represents something far from inclusive. So, how do we make Thanksgiving more accessible to Immigrants and International students. Both in the US and abroad.
